Piero
Guccione nasce nel 1935 a Scicli, Sicilia. Dopo il Diploma all'Istituto d'Arte di Catania, si trasferisce a Roma dove frequenta i pittori Neorealisti Attardi e
Vespignani.
Dal 1966 al 1969 partecipa alla Biennale di Parigi ed è assistente di
Renato Guttuso all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, di cui sarà anche titolare di cattedra.
La prima partecipazione alla Biennale di Venezia è del 1968, ma sarà
presente ad altre quattro edizioni. Dello stesso anno è la personale alla Galleria Il Gabbiano di Roma, presentato in catalogo da Luigi Carluccio.

Guccione was born in 1935 in
Scicli, Sicily. After graduating from the Art Institute of Catania, he moved to Rome where he attended the Neorealist painters Attardi and Vespignani.
From 1966 to 1969 he participated in the Paris Biennale
and was assistant to Renato Guttuso at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he also held the chair.
His first participation at the Venice Biennale was in
1968, but he will be present at four other editions. In the same year is the solo show at the Galleria Il Gabbiano in Rome, presented in the catalogue by Luigi Carluccio.
